And they're also seriously recruited by FANG, big 4, and defense. Cal poly is right by the beach, in a nice quiet calm central cali Beach town and it has great stem programs with a hands on mentality that prepares students well for industry. If im thinking overall, im going with cal poly. If im thinking purely academics and sports, ill go with purdue. Theres tons to do there and yes big names like Microsoft recruit there too. Yes it has a party reputation but it also has a beautiful campus, tons of research opportunities, and it offers really solid academics. It really is a fantastic university thats well known quite well on the entirety of the west coast.ĪSU is a solid school. Its one of those "small but heavy hitter schools" where you get a lot of bang for your buck. Solid big 10 school, it has the academic prowess, the stem prowess, first cs department in america, has d1 sports. Having said that, purdue would be my top choice. After your second job, its practically irrelevant(not including Ivies etc). Youll quickly learn one day once you're done with college and hit industry that nobody cares where you went to school. I realize SLO comes with a higher ranking but after reading some boards, I decided to research the faculty at SLO. • (+) Classes taught by professors not graduate studentsI am having the hardest time deciding between Cal Poly Pomona and SLO.The data were collected at Princeton by myself, and is a chapter in my PhD thesis.
